When you stick with only one supplier for a product, as the time passing by, the cost is always going up, if they keep the same price for ten years, that will be a blue moon.
The truth is they don’t have desire at all to lower their profit unless there are other competitors coming up
So sourcing new suppliers and bringing new competitors on board is always important and it is safe operation for your supply chain, and you should keep doing that. if you don’t have time to do that, let your employee to do that, if your employee are lazzy or have all kinds of excuses to fail to do that, you just hire somebody else or third party (like freelancer or agent) to do that.
Actually there are many middle and small factories or companies can produce good and cheaper products in world, but you can’t find them, why? why?? that’s because your vision is locked by the people arround you, when you give your employee a signment to cost down, they probably said: oh, that’s impossible…and you trust them and believe their words, but in fact, that’s not true…
What shall you do with that if you have that situation? just jump out of them and try to find other solutions. it is always over there as long as you try it a little hard
